Big Head Turtle (5″)

The Big Head Turtle (Heosemys grandis) is native to Southeast Asia and known for its thick, domed carapace and unusually large head — giving it a wise, almost ancient appearance. Peaceful, slow-moving, and easy to bond with. Requires a 75+ gallon tank with a basking area, clean water, and a varied diet (vegetables, pellets, worms). Tolerates cooler water than many tropical species (72–80°F). We raise ours in semi-aquatic setups with rocks and driftwood for enrichment. A great choice for those seeking a long-term, low-stress turtle companion.
